Mingalarama's Annual Food Bazaar on September 21, 2008! Hundreds of Burmese and friends joined the event - enjoyed tasty foods and offered donations to the temple.

To assist urgent needs of the Cyclone Nargis victims in Burma, the Burmese community and friends of Burma in Washington DC, MD & VA organized a relief fundraising and prayer service at Mingalarama Vihara on May 11, 2008. All proceeds of the Emergency Relief Fund will go directly to assist individuals, families and other relief organizations.
Mingalarama Vihara's Annual Htamanae Pwe (Glutinous Rice Festival) on February 16, 2008. Over fifty volunteers participated in cooking and packing Htamanae. Manadalay restaurant, Daw Mary Chit Tee, U Maung Nyo + Daw Nilar Aung, U Zin Lin Htun + Daw Tin Tin Aye and BABA served a special dinner to volunteers.
Mingalarama Vihara's Kathina (Kahtain) ceremony on November 12, 2007. The Kahtain Padaetharpin primary donors are U Tin Win + Daw Htwe Htwe, U Myint Ko + Daw Aye Than and U Maung Htay + Daw Khin Thit and their families.Over two hundred people participated in this auspicious ceremony.
Mingalarama hold the Thadingyut Festival and Paying Homage to Elders on October 27, 2007. More than 600 people participated and enjoyed the foods, and lighting. Also, younger ones paid their respect to thirty-five senior members.
Led by Sayadaws from Sri-Lanka, Thai and Burmese monks with peace-loving people in DC, MD, VA commemorated a memorial prayer service for those fallen victims in Burma in Sept 2007. Photos by U Toe & Ko Thaung Kyi.
